Fife STEM and Sustainability Festival 2024

Fife Education’s STEM Sustainability Festival 2024 was designed to encourage schools and families to get involved in another amazing event for children and young people, with a wealth of workshops and activities for everyone to get involved.

This year's event, which ran from 10th -14th June, hosted an impressive lineup of workshops for learners of all ages and lots of exciting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) challenges that schools can share with families who can get involved with the festival at home.

The sustainability theme of this year, will be used to build links between STEM and Learning for Sustainability.

Representing Hyett Education, our fantastic instructor Jack was up in Scotland for a whole week, giving various STEM workshop to a wealth of schools, and kids of all ages!

One highlight for us at Hyett Education was at Kirkcaldy High School, where 120 S3 learners took part in our robotics workshop, on behalf of the Royal Air Force. Hear what some of their pupils had to say about it:

“This event was very fun and engaging and taught us lots about engineering and robotics as well as giving us coding skills. We enjoyed the event and would recommend this to others.”

“We thought it was very fun and entertaining, we loved making the robot and watching it go around the track, it was a great experience for anyone who wants to do coding when they leave school. We had an amazing time and named our robot Fred. I wish we could do this more often, it was a great experience.”

Thanks to our friends in Scotland and the Royal Air Force Youth Engagement for inviting us back time after time.
